Travel Calendar Overview
The Pace Travel Calendar is a commute tracking tool that helps you log trips, monitor your travel behavior, and measure your impact over time. You can log one-time rides, round trip travel and multi-modal commutes. By recording how you travel each day, you can see changes in your commuting patterns, including reductions in driving, emissions, and vehicle miles.
This online tool becomes available once you create an account with the Pace Commuter Rideshare platform. The calendar is designed for commuters and employers:
- Track your Chicagoland commute activity to understand your travel patterns and how they change over time.
- Measure your environmental impact, including emissions reductions and vehicle miles avoided.
- Compare your vehicle miles saved, emissions reductions, and cost savings to the company average.
- Support employer commuter programs by documenting participation and encouraging employees to track activity and rewards.

How to Track Your Daily Commute Activity
Step 1: Open the Travel Calendar
Select Travel Calendar from the main menu after creating an account.
Step 2: Log Your Commute
Choose a date on the calendar and create a trip entry. Select whether it was a round or one-way trip and choose your mode of travel. Mileage is automatically calculated based on the origin and destination you selected.
Step 3: View Your Commuter Summary
View your commuter summary to see updated totals for:
- Emissions reductions
- Vehicle miles avoided
- Your overall travel activity and commute patterns
As you log your commutes, your summary updates automatically to reflect your tracked trips, reduced driving, and environment impact.
To learn more about how your commute choices translate into financial benefits, select "Show Details" found above the calendar to view comparisons of your performance against a company average.
Reducing how often you drive your personal vehicle may help lower expenses such as fuel use and vehicle wear. In some cases, reduced mileage may even qualify you for discounts on auto insurance. Contact your insurance agency to find out what discounts might be available.

You can adjust your entry on the calendar after your trip will appear on the calendar:
- Drag and drop your commute to a different date
- Delete the entry by selecting the 'x'

Travel Calendar FAQs – Pace Commuter Rideshare Help & Support
When using the calendar for driving alone, how do I select that I have an electric car or motorcycle?
Driving alone counts the same regardless of the vehicle type including motorcycles, cars, trucks or electric vehicles.
How do I log VanGo trips?
If you are driving alone in the VanGo, select Driving Alone.
If you are sharing the VanGo ride, select Vanpool Driver or Vanpool Rider, depending on your role.
If I have the same daily commute, is there an easy way to enter the details?
Yes. You can use a template to quickly log recurring commute patterns. Templates are especially helpful for multimodal commutes. For example, if you vanpool to a Metra station, take the train and walk to work, you can save the entire trip as one template.
To use templates:
- Select Create a Template above the calendar
- Build your commute using multiple segments. Once completed, the template will appear above the calendar for dragging and dropping.
- Save and reuse your template for future dates
On the calendar, why are some days colored gray?
Gray-colored days are disabled because the calendar is designed to track trips you've already completed.
You can log trips:
- Up to 30 days in the past
- Not in the future
