Pace Keeps Moving the Suburbs Forward with New Service Improvements

Article

Date Issued
Fri, 12/05/2025

The latest changes add frequency, reliability on weekdays and weekends along select bus routes

Pace is pleased to announce it is again expanding service along select fixed bus routes throughout the region, improving frequency and operating hours on weekdays and weekends to meet heightened demand from riders.

Pace is moving forward with the latest service improvements as the agency focuses on hiring additional bus operators for future service expansions with sustainable transit funding now in place thanks to the new legislation approved by the Illinois General Assembly. Sunday, December 7, 2025, and Monday, December 8, 2025., Pace is expanding frequency and improving service along six routes in the northern and southern suburbs, including:

  • Route 208, which operates along Golf Road between Evanston and Schaumburg.
  • Route 215, which operates along Crawford Avenue and Howard Street between Evanston and Skokie.
  • Route 223, which operates between Elk Grove Village and Rosemont.
  • Route 290, which operates along Touhy Avenue between Evanston and Chicago
  • Route 350, which operators along Sibley Boulevard between Calumet City and Harvey.
  • Route 606, which operates between Schaumburg and Rosemont.

Route 606 will see improved frequency on the weekdays with buses running about every 10 to 40 minutes and improved hours with service running throughout the day and evening from 4:55 a.m. to 12:05 a.m.

Other changes include additional weekend service for Routes 215 and 223 with Route 215 seeing new trips in mornings and evenings on Sundays. Route 223, meanwhile, will feature new midday trips and all westbound trips beginning at the CTA Blue Line Rosemont Station on Saturdays. Similarly, Route 350 will have improved midday service on weekdays and additional early morning and late evening trips throughout the week, including weekends.

Route 290 and Route 208 both will see additional trips and improved hours and frequency of service on weekdays and weekends with buses running more often throughout the week. Visit Pace’s website to stay up to date on the new service changes and other passenger notices.
