Job Description:
Under the direction of the Regional Manager, Maintenance & Technical Services, the Chief Inspector is responsible for research and development of technical specifications for fixed route and demand responsive vehicles. Essential Functions include:
- Coordination of manufacture, inspection, delivery, and placement in service of same.
- Reviews/revises other technical requirements for the on-going inspection and support of more than 1,200 revenue and non-revenue vehicles.
- Administers warranty claims and manufacturer recalls.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications
Education:
Qualified candidate must have an associate’s degree in structural or electrical engineering.
Experience:
Must have at least three (3) years of project management experience with a strong background in public transportation maintenance support areas.
Certifications/Licenses:
PMP certification is a plus.
Essential Skills:
Must display expertise in technical writing and supervisory skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products and be able to prepare draft documents relating to job duties.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting, where the candidate must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is infrequently performed in a garage setting, where the employee may be exposed to loud noises, noxious odors, and other environmental conditions.
Performance of these duties may require availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and modify schedule as needed to meet service demand.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type, drive to locations within Pace’s service area and out of region as needed, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Salary:
Full salary range: $79,410-$166,845
Midpoint: $123,127
Starting Salary Range: $79,410 - $101,269
