Dial-a-Ride Services: Cook County

There are 13 Dial-a-Ride programs in Cook County and a Chicago taxi program. Service boundaries, fares and eligibility vary. See details below.

Service Name:Barrington 
Service Area:The service will operate within an area to include, the Village of Barrington, Barrington Township, Cuba Township and the portion of unincorporated Palatine Township lying south of County Line Road/Main Street, west of the Deer Grove Forest Preserve, north of Deer Groe Forest Preserve and Makray Golf Club, and east of the Village of Barrington. 
Service Hours:Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
Eligibility:Disabled and senior 
Fares:$2.00 
Ventra for Payment:Yes. Click here for instructions on how to pay with Ventra 
Advanced Call-In:1 day in advance. Doctor visits may be booked a week in advance.

Service Name:Bloom Township 
Service Area:Bloom Township 
Service Hours:Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 
Eligibility:Disabled and seniors 
Fares:Suggested donations for adult escorts: $1.00; seniors and disabled: $1.00; out of township: $ 2.00. 
Advanced Call-In:One business day in advance before 2:00 for within-township trips and call two business days in advance before 2:00pm for out-of-township trips. 
Reservations:1-708-754-8200. Call between 9:00am and 2:00pm the day before. 
Additional Info:Bloom Township. Service is also available to destinations up to nine miles beyond township borders to medical and shopping facilities. 
   
   
Service Name:City of Chicago Taxi Access Program (TAP) 
Service Area:City of Chicago 
Service Hours:Seven days a week, 24 hours a day 
Eligibility:Users must be ADA certified by the RTA and be enrolled in TAP. 
Fares:$2.00 per trip via pre-purchased swipe card only. 
Advanced Call-In:Contact any City of Chicago taxi carrier.

Additional Info:Fare covers a trip up to $30. Trips must originate within the City of Chicago.
