The Wilmette Fireworks Express takes passengers right to Gillson Park for the July 3, 2026 fireworks display. Riders can take advantage of free parking (but please note parking is limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis) and a relaxing ride to the show.
Buses are available for customers to board at three Wilmette locations:
- Loyola Academy, 1100 Laramie Avenue
- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2727 Lake Avenue
- Wilmette Metra station, 12th Street & Central Ave
Service will run every 10 minutes from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm to Gillson Park, and then every 5 minutes from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
After the fireworks, the buses will depart from Gillson Park back to the origin locations until the park is empty.
Cost
Each rider pays the $4.50 round trip fare at the time of boarding, payable by cash, contactless bank card, or Ventra Card. Upon payment, the rider will be given a ticket good for the return trip. When boarding the return trip from Gillson Park after the fireworks, hand the driver your ticket.
