Route 505 Detour Alert

Effective Monday, June 15, 2026

Due to water main construction, Morgan Street between Midland Avenue & Bluff Street in southwest Joliet will be closed. As a result, Route 505 will detour until construction is complete, expected in September 2027.

Route 505 Clockwise

Center St. – Marion St. – Midland Ave. (Regular Route)

Route 505 Counterclockwise

Midland Ave. – Marion St. – Hickory St. (Regular Route)

During the detour, Route 505 will not operate on Morgan Street between Midland Avenue and Center Street.

Along the detour route, the bus will stop upon signal to driver at any intersection along the route where it is safe to do so.
