Route 471 Detour Alert

Effective Monday, August 4, 2025

Due to load reductions on the Deerfield Rd. bridge over the Chicago River, Route 471 will detour as follows between Old Deerfield & Ridge and the Deerfield Metra Station for all trips:

Northbound Trips:

Deerfield Metra Station → Jewett → Robert York → Osterman → Waukegan → Deerbrook Shopping Center → Waukegan → Lake Cook → Northbrook Court → Lake Cook → Skokie → Crossroads Shopping Center → Clavey → Ridge → Old Deerfield

Southbound Trips:

Old Deerfield → Ridge → Lake Cook → Waukegan → Osterman → Robert York → Deerfield → Park→ Deerfield Metra Station
 

During this detour, buses will not operate on Deerfield between Robert York and Old Deerfield. Crossroads and Deerbrook Shopping Centers will only be served on northbound trips.

Northbound and southbound trips will be reversed along Lake Cook and Waukegan. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off on the opposite side of the street from normal trips.

Due to the re-orientation of the route, scheduled arrival times are likely to be unreliable. Please refer to the Transit App for more accurate arrival times. Please allow additional travel time during this detour.
