As 47 new hybrid-electric buses go into service on May 4, 2026, Pace is inviting riders, residents, and transit fans to help name members of its new fleet of hybrid buses. As Pace continues its commitment to cleaner, more sustainable transportation, these next-generation vehicles represent a major step forward—and now the community has a chance to leave its mark.
Through this naming contest, participants can submit creative, fun, and meaningful names that reflect innovation, environmental impact, and the spirit of the communities Pace serves. Whether inspired by sustainability, local pride, or a clever play on words, three selected names will be featured on buses traveling throughout Chicagoland, one at each garage the hybrid buses will operate out of.
All submissions must be appropriate for a public, family-friendly transit system. Names that include or reference profanity, hate speech, violence, illegal activity, or otherwise offensive or discriminatory language will not be considered. Pace reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not align with these standards or reflect the values of the communities it serves.
