Job Description:
Under the direction of the Regional Manager, Maintenance/Technical Services, is responsible for developing, planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the implementation and performance of the electrification of Pace buses, facilities, and infrastructure. Responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing documents, policies, and standard operating procedures necessary to implement Pace's electrification program. Responsible for warranty administration and quality assurance for vehicles. Responsible for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the service delivery method for electric buses; planning, directing, and coordinating the purchase of rolling stock, infrastructure, and charging stations; overseeing capital documents to ensure operational needs are met; coordinating, directing, and assigning duties and projects to Maintenance staff. Meets with staff to identify and resolve problems. Creates reports. Approves the forecast and expenditure of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies. Allocates resources necessary to implement the electrification program. Oversees and participates in the development and administration of the budget for the electrification program. Responds to and resolves inquiries and complaints. Attends internal and external meetings. Conducts research and stays abreast of information, innovations, and trends in electrification and rolling stock maintenance, repair, and warranty administration. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and have or be able to obtain a Class B Driver's license, and a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Must have an associate's degree in engineering maintenance, administration, or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of seven years' experience in transit maintenance and repair of fixed route vehicles or related experience, which must include a minimum of two years of management and administrative responsibility. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suites applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat Adobe, proficiency with Oracle is preferred. Must possess strong research skills and the ability to read and comprehend technical manuals. Must demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be comfortable with public speaking. Work is performed in both a professional office and shop environment with exposure to heat and cold. Local travel is required.
