Rts 541, 542, 543, 554 and 603 Detour Alert

Effective Friday, October 24, 2025 and Saturday, October 25, 2025 ONLY
 

Due to the Nightmare on Chicago Street event in downtown Elgin, Routes 541, 542, 543, 554 and 603 will detour as follows:

Route 541

• Park → Dundee → Kimball → State → Chicago → Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → State → Kimball → Grove
• Buses will not serve Dundee south of Park, Center between Dundee and Highland, Highland west of Center, and Chicago west of Douglas

Route 542

• S Grove → Prairie → Riverside → Highland → Elgin TC (Terminal) → Chicago → Riverside → Prairie → S Grove
• Buses will not serve S Grove north of Prairie, Spring north of S Grove, Highland east of Riverside, and Chicago east of Riverside

Route 543 and Route 603

• Dundee → Kimball → State → Chicago → Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → State → Kimball → Dundee
• Buses will not serve Dundee south of Kimball, Center between Dundee and Chicago, Highland west of Center, and Chicago west of Center

Route 554

• Chicago → Villa → Prairie → Riverside → Highland → Elgin TC (Terminal) → Chicago → Riverside → Prairie → Villa → Chicago • Buses will not serve Center between Chicago and Highland, Highland east of Riverside, and Chicago between Riverside and Villa
