Routes 501, 505, and 507 Detour Alert

The Cass Street bridge over the Des Plaines River in Joliet will close due to major construction work. Routes 501 westbound, 505 clockwise (outbound), and Route 507 westbound buses will detour as follows:

Scott – Jackson – Broadway – Western (regular route).

During the detour, there will be no service on Cass west of Scott. Passengers boarding buses at Chicago/Cass should use the existing posted bus stop at Scott/Cass. Routes 501 and 507 eastbound, and Route 505 clockwise (inbound)/counterclockwise (inbound and outbound) will not be impacted.

On the detour routing, posted bus stop signs will not be present. Passengers can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along the detour routing.

Buses will detour until construction concludes, expected at the end of 2026. Passengers should expect delays during construction.
