Routes 208 and 234 Detour Alert

Starts Monday, August 18, 2025

Due to utility work, Northwest Highway/Miner in Des Plaines will be closed between Monday, August 18, 2025 and Monday, August 25, 2025. Buses will detour as follows:

Route 208 Westbound

Miner → Lee → Elk → River → Rand → Golf → Broadway → Northwest Highway → resume regular route

Route 208 Eastbound

Northwest Highway → Broadway → Golf → Rand → River → Thacker → Lee → Miner → resume regular route

Route 234 Southbound

River → Thacker → Lee → Miner → resume regular route

During this detour, buses will not serve Northwest Highway/Miner between River and Broadway and Route 234 southbound buses will not serve Elk, Lee north of Miner, Jefferson, and Graceland.

Route 234 northbound buses are unaffected.

On the temporary segment of the route, posted bus stop signs will not be present. Riders can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along that segment.
