Route 541 Detour Alert
Effective Tuesday, August 5, 2025
Due to construction on Ann Street between Grove Avenue and Douglas Avenue in Elgin, all outbound Route 541 trips will detour as follows:
Douglas → Kimball → Grove → Cherry → Douglas (regular route)
During this detour, outbound buses will not serve Ann Street between Grove Avenue and Douglas Avenue and Douglas Avenue between Ann Street and Cherry Street.
Inbound buses are not affected by the construction activity and will operate the regular route.
Please note that posted bus stop signs will not be present along the detour routing. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour routing where it is safe to do so.
Buses will resume regular service in this area upon the completion of construction, which is expected to occur in two weeks. Please allow additional travel time during the detour.
