Route 541 Detour Alert
Effective Friday, July 25, 2025 ONLY
Due to the closure of several streets including Prospect for the Elgin Classic bicycle race in downtown Elgin, outbound buses will detour as follows:
Slade → Augusta → Congdon
During this detour, outbound buses will not serve Prospect between Slade and Congdon or Congdon between Prospect and Augusta.
Please note that posted bus stop signs will not be present along the detour routing. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour where it is safe to do so.
Buses will resume regular route on Saturday, July 26th, 2025. Please allow additional travel time during the detour.
