Route 221 Detour Alert

Due to construction at the CN railroad crossing on Touhy near Mannheim in Des Plaines, Route 221 buses will detour as follows:
Touhy ↔ Mannheim ↔ Pratt ↔ Maple ↔ Touhy (regular route)
During the detour, there will be no service Touhy between Mannheim and Maple.
On the detour routing, posted bus stop signs will not be present. Passengers can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along the detour routing.
Regular service is expected to resume in this area at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
