Under the direction of the Regional Manager, or designate, is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll for both union and non-union divisional employees. Responsibilities include: tracking vacations and floating holidays for all employees, maintaining employee payroll files, verifying and adjusting payroll reports, answering employee payroll questions, notifying employees of tax levies, etc., reconciling farebox revenue, data serving as liaison for pension questions and changes, serving as petty cash custodian, serving as back-up receptionist, and performing other duties as assigned or required.
Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of office and automated payroll experience, preferably with union contracts. Must demonstrate proficiency in use of office equipment, including copier, printer, fax machine and calculator and computers including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and other applications. Must demonstrate good figure aptitude, be detail oriented, and highly organized. Must demonstrate the ability to adapt and prioritize work. Must demonstrate good communication skills and exercise sound, independent judgment while maintaining confidentiality. Must be able to work in a professional office environment with the majority of working hours consisting of paper/computer work.
