Board of Directors

The governing body of Pace, the Suburban Bus Division of the Northern Illinois Transit Authority, is a Board consisting of eleven directors. One director is appointed by the Governor of Illinois. Two directors are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Chicago. Three directors are appointed by the President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners (one representing north suburban Cook County, one representing west suburban Cook County, and one representing Cook County in full). Five directors are appointed, one each, by the Board Chairs of DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. The Chair of the Pace Board is elected from within by a majority of the Directors. However, until such time as a Chair is elected, a Lead Director serves in that capacity.

The Board members serve three- or five-year terms, as specified in state statute.

Board Meetings

Board meeting dates are published on the Public Meetings page at the end of each year for the succeeding year. Unless other notification is made, all meetings are held in the Board room of Pace headquarters at 550 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Board meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
