Route 563 Detour Alert

Effective Monday, September 11, 2023

Due to the road closure for construction at Commonwealth and 24^th in North Chicago, Route 563 buses will operate on the following detour in both directions:

Sheridan ↔ Foss Park ↔ Marquette ↔ Nimitz ↔ Main ↔ Sheridan  

During this detour, Route 563 buses will not operate on Sheridan, MLK Jr Drive, Commonwealth, and 24^th between Sheridan/Foss Park and Sheridan/24^th.

On the temporary route segments, bus stop signs will not be present. Riders can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along those segments.

Buses will return to regular route when the construction is complete, which is expected to be in mid-October 2023.  

Please allow additional travel time during the detour.
