Route 322 Detour Alert Update
Effective Monday, March 15, 2021
Starting Monday, March 15, the winter shutdown will end and construction will resume on 21st Avenue (between Parkes Drive and 19th Street) and 19th Street (between 21st Avenue and 17th Avenue) in Broadview. As a result, Route 322 buses will resume the detour routing operated in Fall 2020 due to this construction and the ongoing weight restrictions on the Cermak Road Bridge over Addison Creek between 21st Avenue and 17th Avenue in Broadview.
Starting Monday, March 15, 2021, all Route 322 buses will detour as follows:
Route 322 Eastbound Detour:
Cermak Road → 21st Avenue → Cermak Road (South Frontage) → 25th Avenue → Roosevelt Road → 1st Avenue → 1st Avenue Cutoff → Cermak Road → resume regular route
Route 322 Westbound Detour:
Cermak Road → 1st Avenue Cutoff → 1st Avenue → Roosevelt Road → 25th Avenue → 22nd Street → 21st Avenue → Cermak Road → resume regular route
Please note that eastbound posted stops from Cermak Road/Terry Lane to Cermak Road/1st Avenue and westbound posted stops from Cermak Road/1st Avenue to Cermak Road/17th Avenue will not be served during this detour. On the temporary route segments, posted bus stop signs will not be present. Riders can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along those segments.
Buses will detour as shown above until the 21st Avenue and 19th Avenue construction is completed, which is expected to be at the end of summer 2021. At that time, an updated notice will be posted and Route 322 will resume the detour caused by the Cermak Road Bridge weight restrictions.
Please allow extra travel time for Route 322 trips during this detour.
