Job Description:
Responsible for the daily management of operations, maintenance, security, safety/training, labor relations and related administrative activities of the region assigned. Responsible for the planning, implementation and administration of PACE goals and objectives. Oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance, safety/training and administrative activities in the region, ensuring compliance with all Pace rules, policies, procedures and objectives, government regulations, labor contracts and budgets. Assists Chief Operating Officer with projects as assigned. Administers Employee Performance Appraisals and discipline, handles grievances, arbitration matters and unemployment hearings. Participates in the negotiation of labor contracts. Assists and oversees employee projects and goals. Ensures a well-rounded, detail-oriented staff/team, dedicated to providing safe, reliable, courteous and efficient service to the public and Pace riders. Responsible for maintaining positive community relations with public officials within the region. Other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position and may be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must possess 10 or more years progressively responsible experience in transit management. Excellent demonstrable verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make quick and accurate decisions. Must have good public speaking skills, a good work history and must have or be able to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement. Must be able to work well with all levels of the organization and demonstrate the ability to handle highly confidential matters. Candidate must have Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or equivalent work experience. Candidate must have a good work history.
