Under the direction of the General Counsel, conducts legal research; performs e-filing and assists with all phases of the litigation process, including abstracting depositions; assists with Freedom of Information Act requests, insurance certificates, payment of bills/invoices, and handling mail; and performs other duties as assigned.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must have an associate degree, a bachelor's degree is preferred. Must be a certified paralegal with a minimum of two years' experience working as a paralegal in the area of civil law, preferably personal injury defense, with a good work history. Must be proficient with computer applications including Microsoft suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe) and Westlaw, as well as with other online research tools. Must possess strong research skills. Must be organized, detail oriented, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to effectively manage time and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as a member of the legal team. Must be able to handle sensitive information with professionalism, maintaining strict confidentiality.
