Job Description:
Under the direction of Division Manager, or designee, performs administrative duties including but not limited to: posts driver and mechanic hours; monitors schedule performance and assists with all school pass tasks; tracks driver hours; filing, copying, and scanning; schedule inventory; prepares union employee evaluations; reviews and verifies operator running times; answers telephones; gives schedule information; organizes files; prepares reduced fare card applications; performs dispatch duties; inputs passenger comment forms; prepares farebox revenue reports; serves as the petty cash custodian; fills in for Receptionist and Payroll Administrator; may serve as a back-up bus operator; distributes passes and information in the community; assists with Chicago Paratransit services; and performs other duties as assigned and required. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, and have or be able to obtain a class "B" Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements and a DOT medical examiner's certificate. Must have a minimum of 1-2 years previous administrative/general office experience, including the ability to use a fax machine, copier, printer and other office equipment, and have a good work history. Must demonstrate basic proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint is a plus. Must be able to type with speed and accuracy, demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, be customer service oriented, work efficiently to meet deadlines; and demonstrate knowledge of the Lake County service area. Work is primarily performed in an office environment; work in the garage as well as in the community is also required.
