Job Description:
Under the direction of the Regional Division Manager or designee, is responsible for the direct supervision of all day-today operations, administration, transportation, safety, training, and maintenance sections of the Division; implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Pace rules, policies, procedures, and programs; handling labor relation matters, contract negotiations, contract implementation, grievances and other union matters with the union; handling all personnel matters; performing monthly and annual budget analysis and reporting, and operating within budget; approving and overseeing Division petty cash, expenses, payroll, appraisals, and purchasing; initiating and running investigations when warranted; establishing Division goals and working with staff to achieve them; overseeing the safety and security of the facility, employees, and passengers; working on projects and special events; and performing other duties as assigned. Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma, high school equivalency diploma or general education diploma, a college degree in a transit-related field or business is preferred. Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in public transit supervision and operation management including labor relations, discipline of employees, complaints, and incident/accident investigation with extensive knowledge of public transportation and must have a good work history; familiarity with Pace operations, safety and training, and maintenance procedures is a plus. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger and airbrakes endorsements and DOT certification. Must have proficient computer skills with demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must have strong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to maintain confidentiality.
