Job Description:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, Design & Construction, manages projects in all phases of the project life cycle (planning, design, construction, and closeout). Manages architectural/engineering services contracts, prepares documents for construction projects, and serves as field inspector during construction. Establishes estimates, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, performance, and contract requirements. Resolves project related issues, disputes, and claims. Evaluates and processes change orders. Writes task order project scopes for solicitation of architectural and engineering professional services. Reviews and negotiates proposed architectural professional services proposals, invoices, and fees. Manages project documentation and contractual responsibilities during pre-design, design development, and construction. Performs quality assurance/quality control reviews for architectural and engineering design submittals. Supervises construction contract work in the field, ensures that project is constructed in accordance with detailed plans and specifications and contract requirements. Writes construction documents for bid letting. Performs all close out tasks associated with the completion of all architectural and engineering services and construction contract work on projects assigned. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, and a minimum of six years of design and construction project management experience managing projects in all phases of the project life cycle (planning, design, construction, and closeout). Experience in various construction delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, JOC, GMP, Construction Management at Risk, and Construction Manager as Adviser is preferred. Professional architecture or engineering license is preferred. CCM and LEED certification is a plus. Knowledge of diesel, compressed natural gas, and electric vehicle equipment, maintenance, fueling, and storage facilities is preferred. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel and proficient using AutoCAD; prior experience with eBuilder, Bluebeam, Primavera Planner 6, HCSS or other estimating software is preferred. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills, and be detail oriented with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Most work is performed in an office environment but travel to local project sites and field work including the ability to maneuver on a construction site is required.
