Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance South Holland or designate, will be responsible for assigning of and ensuring successful completion of the daily work assignments of Electronic Technicians working with fare collection, IBS, passenger counting, video, and other systems requiring support. Provide one on one mentoring and training of all Technicians as assigned. Daily communications with all locations, Pace and Contractors requiring the support of the Technical Service group in order to maintain fare collection, information and video systems in use on Pace vehicles; scheduling of Technician daily assignments and ensuring satisfactory completion of repair tasks; one on one training and mentoring of current and new Technicians on the fare collection, information collection and video systems installed on Pace vehicles; oversees inventory of support parts and components required for the ongoing maintenance of electronic systems in use on Pace vehicles; track components and provide reports for management approvals of monthly project payments.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the Fixed Route transit bus electronics fields related to fare collection, passenger data collection, and mobile surveillance systems. Prior Fixed Route experience and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to comprehend existing systems and create training information and modules for Technicians. Budget and general accounting experience is preferred. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills and be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Applicants must have a good work history and possess a current valid drivers license, a class "B" CDL is preferred. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing compliance with FTA and DOT regulations. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds. Must be able to work outside year-round regardless of the conditions.
