Location: South Holland
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, supervises all maintenance and technical services employees; oversees and participates in the development and administration of the budget; approves the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; and approves expenditures and implements budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary. Directs, guides and oversees the daily function of the staff and building at South Holland. Provides guidance to staff for research of new projects, technical specifications, rolling stock maintenance practices, and commodities for fleet support. Oversees contract staff performing project management functions. Provides support to Maintenance Superintendent and contractors. Directs staff regarding policies and documentation as related to required Pace fleet maintenance. Attends and participates in transit professional group meetings and stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of rolling stock maintenance, repair, and warranty administration. Represents Pace to elected officials and outside agencies. Coordinates assigned activities with those of other departments and outside agencies and organizations. Responds to and resolves citizen inquiries and complaints. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This is a safety-sensitive position. Work is performed in both a professional office and shop environment with exposure to heat and cold. Local and out of region travel is required.
Qualified candidate must have either an associate degree or a minimum of seven years' experience as a transit facility Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance and repair of fixed route and demand response vehicles. Must have a class B-CDL license with a good driving record and DOT medical certification. Must be proficient with Oracle and with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Must have excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple workrelated
projects at a time
