Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, is responsible for supervising the vehicle repair and maintenance activities of employees on their shift; assigning work to employees utilizing Oracle; reviewing work orders for time and material used; monitoring attendance; accepting road calls; giving instruction and on-the-job training to mechanics; handling all necessary reports; and performing other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualified candidate must be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid class "A" Commercial Driver's License; have at least four years diesel/gas/CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) maintenance and repair experience and/or technical training to include diesel/gas/CNG engines, bus electrical, suspension and hydraulic systems, DOT regulations and supervisory experience is preferred; pass the Foreman exam; be able to read/follow blueprint, schematics and maintenance manuals; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; and have a good work history. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week.
