Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, is responsible for supervising the vehicle repair and maintenance activities of employees on their shift; assigning work to employees utilizing Oracle; reviewing work orders for time and material used; monitoring attendance; accepting road calls; giving instruction and on-the-job training to mechanics; updating and maintaining vehicle repair logs; handling all necessary reports; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must be at least 21 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED and have or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid class "A" Commercial Driver's License; a/c certifications are preferred; have at least five years diesel/gas maintenance and repair experience and/or technical training to include diesel engines, bus electrical, suspension and hydraulic systems, and DOT regulations; must have supervisory experience; pass the Foreman exam; be able to read/follow blueprint, schematics and maintenance manuals; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; be proficient with Microsoft Windows applications; and have a good work history. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week. This is a safety sensitive position. Work is performed in an office environment, garage and outdoors with frequent exposure to loud noises and fumes. This position requires a lot of walking and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and to lift up to and more than 100 pounds sometimes.
