Vanpool Programs

Metra Feeders

The Metra Feeder allows for the Pace Van to be parked at a Metra station near the worksite, so that 5-13 participants can take the train and then use the van to complete the commute.

To qualify for the program, at least half of the participants must purchase a Metra monthly pass or 10-ride ticket.

Each participant pays $58 per month which covers all costs associated with the van including fuel, maintenance, insurance, tolls, roadside assistance, and van washes. Metra fares and parking are not included in this rate.

For a listing of fares and train schedules, visit Metra's website.

One of the participants volunteers to be the primary driver. He or she does not pay a fare! Backup drivers receive a $10 per month discount.

For an additional savings, fares can be paid with pre-tax dollars through the Commuter Choice Benefits Program.

Guaranteed Ride Home - Participants are eligible for reimbursement of up to $125/ year for alternative transportation taken due to a personal emergency. This does not apply for overtime.

The van is allowed to travel a total of 600 miles per month for work trips, fueling, maintenance, washes, lunch trips, etc. Unused miles are not bankable. Excess mileage will be charged at $0.75 per mile.

The primary driver is required to pay a $250 security deposit or submit a credit card account number in lieu of a deposit. Each passenger is required to pay a $75 deposit. Deposits are refundable, based on the condition of the van and account status.

The primary driver and back-up drivers must sign a Driver/ Back-up Driver Agreement and passengers must sign a Rider agreement, prior to participation. An initial three-month commitment to the program is required.

Potential driver candidates must meet Pace’s Vanpool Driver Requirements.
