Upcoming Service Improvements for
Pace South & Southwest Division Passengers
Effective Sunday, November 23, 2008
This summary provides details about the service improvements being implemented on South & Southwest Division Routes as part of Phase 1 of the South Cook County Will
County Restructuring Initiative. These changes involve three specific service areas, which are described below and shown in the attached maps.
- Posted stop service on routes operating in corridors with CTA service in Chicago
(South Division Routes 349, 352, 353 & 359)
(Southwest Division Routes 379, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385 & 386)
To reduce duplication of service in corridors that also have CTA service in the city of Chicago while maintaining route connections at major cross streets and speeding
up service for Pace riders, eleven routes will serve POSTED STOPS ONLY in the following corridors:
South Division Routes

- Improved service to the 5th Municipal District Circuit Courthouse in Bridgeview
(Southwest Division Routes 381, 385 & 386)
To improve service to the 5th Municipal District Circuit Courthouse in Bridgeview and provide better, more frequent connections between Routes 381 and 386 and to
improve service to Pace Southwest Division, the routing in Bridgeview, Hickory Hills and Palos Hills for these routes is being adjusted. Routing for the new segments
is described below and shown on the map:
Route 381:
95th St–76th Ave–Industrial Dr–100th Pl–76th Ave–103rd St–Roberts Rd–107th St–88th Ave
Route 385:
Roberts Rd–95th St–88th Ave
Route 386:
All trips will operate using the current routing via Harlem Ave–100th Pl–76th Ave - the current routing via Harlem Ave–95th St–76th Ave is being discontinued.
These changes will result in the following map adjustments:
Two new route segments will be served:
- Industrial Dr between 76th Ave & 100th Pl
- 103rd St between 76th Ave & Roberts Rd
Two route segments previously served by Route 381 will now be served by Route 385:
- 95th St between Roberts Rd & 88th Ave
- 88th Ave between 95th St & 107th St
Two route segments previously served by Route 385 will now be served by Route 381:
- Roberts Rd between 103rd St & 107th St
- 107th St between Roberts Rd & 88th Ave
Three route segments will no longer be served:
- 95th St between 76th Ave & Roberts Rd
- 76th Ave between Industrial Dr & 100th Pl
- Roberts Rd between 95th St & 103rd St
Note: No changes are being made to service on Route 379 in this area at this time.
- Improved service to Wal-Mart and Rivercrest shopping centers in Crestwood
(Southwest Division Routes 383 & 385)
To improve service to the Wal-Mart and Rivercrest shopping centers in Crestwood, the routing in Crestwood for this route is being adjusted. Routing for the new segment
is described below and shown on the map:
Route 385:
135th St–Cicero Ave–Cal Sag Rd
These changes will result in the following map adjustments:
Two new route segments will be served:
- 135th St between Cal Sag Rd & Cicero Ave
- Cicero Ave between 135th St & Cal Sag Rd
One route segment will no longer be served:
- Cal Sag Rd between 135th St & Cicero Ave
Also, northbound 385 trips will be adjusted to exit Rivercrest Center via Rivercrest Dr instead of using the driveway west of Pizzeria Uno’s.
Note: Route 383 Rivercrest trips will also exit Rivercrest Center at Rivercrest Dr instead of using the driveway west of Pizzeria Uno’s. No other changes are
being made to Route 383 in this area at this time.
Previews of the updated public timetables for each route will be posted as soon as they are available.
