In 2003, Pace worked with the communities of Elgin, Carpentersville, East Dundee, South Elgin and West Dundee to analyze and restructure fixed-route service in the
area.
The goal of this Initiative was to improve transit in the Elgin Area according to local needs.
Results of the Initiative included new service on portions of the
fast-growing Randall Road corridor, expansion of service in Carpentersville, later operating hours on some routes and discontinuation of unproductive portions of routes.
As part of its service restructuring process, Pace will continually review the outcomes of its Initiatives to ensure that they meet the needs of stakeholders.
