Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, responsible for supervising the vehicle repair and maintenance activities. Assigns work to Maintenance employees by generating work orders and assure that fleet maintenance is being done to standards; assist and trouble shoot vehicle and equipment problems; handles vehicle breakdowns and road calls; provide on-the-job training to staff. Monitors and directs vehicle cleaning and servicing and responsible for morning pull out. Performs computer functions, Oracle Maintenance System; Fleetwatch System; Cubic/Ventra System; and inputs data and generates reports. Inspect facility and grounds to ensure safety and security provisions in accordance with Pace policies and procedures. Monitors employee's attendance and work performance. Answers phones, fields calls and inquiries. Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualified candidate must have at least two (2) years' experience in public transportation maintenance. Must have, or be able to obtain a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement, and Air Conditioning Certification. Must have a High School Diploma and mechanic/diesel technician training. Must possess: good written and verbal communication skills; extensive knowledge of Pace's maintenance systems; supervisory ability; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to make quick, accurate decisions. The performance of these duties may be required on any Shift, and on any day/night of the week. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Skills: minimum of five (5) years or equivalent, diesel transit vehicle repair and fleet maintenance background; proficient with MS Windows computer skills; Oracle Maintenance System, MS Word and MS Excel. Shift Responsible experience desired. Qualified candidate must have a good work history and must be dependable with'excellent attendance history.
