Facility Maintenance Coordinator
Location: Arlington Heights
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance - South Holland, is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assisting the Maintenance Specialists, with the general and routine maintenance required at the 20 Pace passenger facilities; scheduling regular inspections; contract administration, including participating in contractor selection and ensuring contract compliance and adherence to maintenance best practices; monitoring, inspecting and overseeing all work performed by contractors; performing trash removal and disposal to keep facilities and shelters clean; performing miscellaneous repairs to facilities and shelters; reviewing estimates and invoices when requested for payment approvals; purchasing replacement parts; assisting in the development of all contracted work requisitions; and performing other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualified candidate must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED; have or be able to obtain a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement; have a minimum of five years' previous work experience in facility maintenance or a comparable field and have a good work history; be able to operate all Pace equipment and have a complete set of hand tools sufficient to perform the duties of the position; be able to read and follow blueprint, schematics and maintenance manuals; have knowledge and skills to perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs of the building and facility systems which includes basic plumbing, and electrical repairs; must be proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications and have strong communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and supervisory skills. Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions at passenger facilities and other Pace locations. Must be on call 24/7 and able to work any hours of the day and all days of the week; must be able to lift 75 pounds to waist height, maintain and carry that weight for a minimum of ten feet; and must be able to climb ladders.
