SharePoint Solutions Architect

Location: Arlington Heights
Office: Internal Services

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, Systems Administration acts as the point person for all SharePoint projects. This includes leading a SharePoint team in the analysis, design, development, and deployment of SharePoint solutions. Examples of these solutions may include enterprise content management, client-facing portals, custom business process workflows, and business intelligence dashboards. Acts as the primary architect for all custom SharePoint solutions. This includes working with all levels of business both verbally and in writing to determine business needs and how to address them with SharePoint. Leads the complete software development lifecycle for SharePoint solutions, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, and testing. Educates developers on best practices for developing custom SharePoint solutions. Provides expertise and support to business managers and other members of IT to determine how to best implement, support, and use SharePoint solutions. Participates in SharePoint infrastructure projects. Determines when SharePoint is not the right solution for a business problem and communicate this effectively to business leaders. Conducts research on emerging SharePoint development tools and strategies. Creates related documentation as required. Assists in implementing information technology solutions and conduct post-implementation reviews for SharePoint implementations. Communicates project plans, timelines and weekly and monthly status reports on an on-going basis for production support issues, service requests and projects to all stakeholders, both business and MIS, on a timely and consistent basis. Works with SharePoint super users and end users on SharePoint application software issues.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in the field of computer science or equivalent. Five years of SharePoint design and administration experience. Expert in SharePoint 2010 implementations. Experience leading a software development team, analyzing and documenting business processes. Hands on experience in Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and .NET development. Experience with SQL Server or equivalent databases, and Microsoft IIS/Windows or equivalent server platforms. Must have strong organizational skills. Must be a strong logical and analytical thinker. Must have the ability to think broadly and consider impacts across systems and within the organization. Must have excellent written and interpersonal skills are a must. Must be proficient in computer word processing programs and computer applications to the extent required by specific job functions, and must be prepared to write documents related to job duties using the word processing applications.
