Maintenance Data Coordinator

Location: Bridgeview

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, responsible for entering/reviewing daily consumption, maintaining/reviewing mileage/fuel for accuracy, tire changes/inventory, attendance, tracking of D.O.T bus records and filing. Responsible for reviewing requisitions and researching various sources for materials, equipment and services needed for assigned facility/Division; reordering parts; expediting all facility general purchase orders; responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments, i.e., parts, fluids, scrap, issuing parts to mechanics recording parts usage from equipment repair orders reviewing stock levels and preparing reorder notices to replenish and maintain inventory levels, verifying cycle counts, preparing requisitions, maintaining inventory balances; developing and maintaining communication and good rapport with Maintenance Managers, Materials personnel and vendors. Responsible for traveling to various locations for parts pick up on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must posses secretarial skills including typing/word processing skills equivalent to the level of Maintenance Data/Inventory Controller; experience with the Transit Information System (T.I.S.) In all areas, ie. Maintenance and Purchasing/Inventory. Applicant must have two (2) years experience in Materials, stockroom operations, inventory control or related field; purchasing, materials planning and/or government/transit experience desired. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License. A good knowledge of car/truck/bus parts is required. Good verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of computerized parts inventory systems are required. Must possess the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Must possess or be able to obtain Forklift certification. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
